Ambient occlusion is something which you must apply ontop of your diffuse texture in order to simulate surface shadows so take your unwrapped diffuse texture into photoshop and then place the ambient occlusion pass ontop of it and set it to multiply.

Abletudu you shouldnt need the sdk no.
