Dark Ride Implementation Strategy
« on: November 26, 2014, 01:07:51 PM »
Build a theme car and then the pack to go with it. Remember Dark Rides can also be a sort of mini-monorail too like for instance the 'Peter Pan' ride, suspended boats.

Some Ideas to consider for DR Themes:

Safari Dark Ride with 2 or 4 person Jungle Jeeps.
Peter Pan is public domain ( 1902 ) - Have at it ;)
Snow White is public domain ( 1812 ) - have at it ;)
Captain Nemo - Public Domain ;) ( 1870 ) yes, have at it.
Haunted Estate
Haunted Jungle
Laff In The Dark - a classic that should be everywhere.
It's A Big World After All ( nothing small about it )
Pirates of the Gulf - Pirates Boat Ride.
Mr. Frog's Wildest Ride - Who Needs Toads.
"Your Parks Tales" - make a generic park dark ride about your park.
"Atomic World" uses multimovers to get your people beyond Inner Space!
Indiana Bones and the Temple of Gloom - An Adventure ride.
Christmas Ride or Holiday Lights. Santa can make a cameo ;)

It is endless and each ride can have it's type of cars, water, monorail, tracked etc.

Those are good ideas, but be careful what screenshots or videos are posted here as Pantera is a Christian company and does not want any images of demons or the like. Please be respectful of their wishes in that respect. Thank you for your understanding.

Well of course Santa's Village fits right in then. But remember also that many dark rides are about demons and goblins and the like, monsters or things that are the fringe bizarre to say the least. Not that I am of course making this up, but rides like for example "The Haunted Mansion" deal with all sorts of scary things and delightful ghosts. The start of the ride at Disneyland actually starts in an elevator themed foyer entry and finally a dead person hanging above your head. Not making it up, but this is in real life. I don't think the haunted mansion is meant to promote the devil or evil. It is to me a harmless scare ride designed to scare and thrill and amaze riders much like for example the Matterhorn Bobsleds are, just in a differing way. The same case could be made of animal lovers versus the Jungle Cruise ride where the operator fires shots at alligators and hippos even if they are animatronic.
